Glen Edward Hunt
Of Melbourne, Arkansas
Glen Edward Hunt, son of the late James Owen Hunt and Katie Cooper Hunt, was born April 16, 1933. He departed this life December 27, 2024 at the age of 91. Glen was proud to say that he was born and raised in Melbourne, Arkansas. He enjoyed walking his dog around the court square and around town. He attended Melbourne High School, where he played on the baseball team, graduating in 1950. He was united in marriage to Helen Herron January 2, 1953 in Melbourne, Arkansas and together they raised two children. Glen spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and loyal friend. He retired from Boeing Aircraft, after thirty plus years of employment. He did a little farming and raising cattle. He had a love for Sheltie dogs, he and Helen raised and showed six AKC Champions and sold many pups. Glen was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Melbourne First Baptist Church.
Glen is survived by two children: Gary Hunt and wife Socie of Melbourne and Teresa Sharp and husband David of Sage; four grandchildren: Shawn Hunt (Mandy) of Melbourne, Amber Mayfield (Billy) of Beebe, Katy Blevins (Kermit) of Sage, Andrew Sharp of Arizona; ten great grandchildren: Carsen Hunt of Nixa, Cassie Brown of Cabot, Brinkley Hunt of Nixa, Darcie Turnbyfield of Cabot, Madelyn Mayfield of Cabot, Katie Miller, Samuel Hunt, Madelyn Hunt of Melbourne, Audra Clark (Ryder) of Sage and Dani Drew Sharp of Melbourne; four great great grandchildren: Savy May, Case May, Chance Brown, Ben Brown; three nieces and a host of other relatives and many good friends. Glen was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; an infant son; four siblings: James Owen Hunt, Jr., Nina Mae Hunt, Eunice Marie Hunt, Opal Irene Cook and one great, great granddaughter: Laiken May.
Visitation will be Monday, December 30 at Melbourne Cemetery beginning at 1:30 p.m. Graveside funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Shawn Hunt officiating under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers: Kenny Jones, David Pratt, Tony Watson, Michael Watson, Allen Smith, Kirby Billingsley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Food Pantry, First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 554, Melbourne, Arkansas 72556.
