Glen Edward Billingsley

Of Violet Hill, Arkansas

Glen Edward Billingsley, son of the late Ewell "Cotton" Billingsley and Mildred Campbell Billingsley, was born September 18, 1948 in Batesville, Arkansas.  He departed this life November 1, 2025 at his home in Violet Hill, Arkansas at the age of 77.  He was a 1966 graduate of Violet Hill High School.  Glen went on to attend Arkansas State University where he graduated with a Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Agriculture. He also attended Gethsemane Bible Institute and graduated with an Associate of Biblical Studies Degree. Glen was an educator at Melbourne School for forty-one years, hiring on as an Agri Instructor, then high school Principal, then school Superintendent., retiring in 2002. During those forty-one years, he was known for teaching Hunter Education, teaching Agri, being a fair principal and cooking the best hamburgers, known as B-Burgers.  He was united in marriage to Joanna Featherston August 7, 1999 and they made their home in Violet Hill. Glen was of the Baptist faith and a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Violet Hill, where he was song leader and taught men's Sunday School class.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years:  Joanna Billingsley of the home; one son:  Curtis (Nikki) Billingsley of Violet Hill; two "bonus children": Catherine (Kevin) Thomas of Redfield and Drew (Jennifer) Sandage of Batesville; one sister:  Jackie Drake of Leander, Texas; seven grandchildren:  Dakota Billingsley, Becky Beth (Briar) King, Billy John "BJ" (Maci) Billingsley, Kiegan (Addie) Billingsley, Cody (Cobie) Williams, Savannah Sandage, Sawyer Sandage, Hadli Sartin; nine great grandchildren:  Graelynn Billingsley, Haylynn Billingsley, William Robert Billingsley, Blakely King, Booker King, Casen Williams, Carley Williams, Cora Williams, Baynx Robert Billingsley; former daughter-in-law:  Melanie Foster of Batesville; mother of Curtis and Billy Bob:  Pam Billingsley of LaCrosse; a special friend: Doyle Weaver of Violet Hill and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one son:  Billy Bob Billingsley and one sister:  Carol Billingsley Powell.

Visitation and funeral service will be Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Violet Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.   Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Randy Bailey.  Burial will follow under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne, Arkansas.
