Gladys Marie Marchant May

Of Pineville, Arkansas

Gladys Marie Marchant May, daughter of the late Henry Carl Marchant and Marie Pauline Mayfield Marchant, was born January 22, 1941 in Calico Rock, Arkansas.  She departed this life August 1, 2023 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 10 days.  She was united in marriage to James Henry May August 27, 1959 in Calico Rock and together they raised three sons.  Gladys spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend.  She was employed at White River Healthcare for 20 years.

She is survived by one son: Steven May and wife Paula of Norfork; two daughters-in-law:  Diana May of Mountain Home and Stacy May of Norfork; one brother:  Tommy Marchant of Calico Rock; six grandchildren:  Tasha (Jared) Forbus, Jamie (Nicky) Payne, Jacob (Aurora) May, James (Shylah) May, Jordan (James) Sanders, Shelby (Josh) Cagle; sixteen great grandchildren:  Lakin, Lawson, Jack, Rynleigh, Ryker, Madisyn, Bentley, Brycen, Brantlee, Lexi, Ethan, Kolter, Ronnie, Case, Mili, Henrietta and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons: Tony May and Ronnie May; one brother:  Carl Marchant and one sister:  Doris Folkerts.

Visitation and funeral service will be Thursday, August 3 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.   Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Gale Wooten officiating.  Burial will follow at Staggs Cemetery.
