Geneva Airee Bryant Hunter

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Geneva Bryant-Hunter, known to her friends and acquaintances as Gene, of Calico Rock, Arkansas, passed away quietly in her sleep at her home, July 3, 2021 following a long, age related illness.  She was born April 1, 1932 to Ellis and Ellie Bryant in Dade City, Florida.  She had been a resident of North Arkansas for many years having moved from Florida to a cabin on the banks of the White River in Sadieville, a few miles down the river from Calico Rock.  She later moved into Calico Rock.  Gene is survived by her husband, Donald Hunter and children:  Donna Bassett, Daniel Hunter and Diane Hunter all of Florida and son Thomas Hunter of California, one sister Arlene, and one brother Harold both of Florida.  She is also survived by special caregiver: Jimmy Dale Reynolds of Calico Rock.  A special thanks go to the doctors, nurses, aides, chaplain and social worker of Kindred Hospice.  They all went above the call of duty to care for Gene during the final months of her life.

Gene was a long time member of the Calico Rock Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was a faithful member of the congregation and the Adult Sunday School Class.  She was involved in the Women's Ministry, and was a member of the church choir.  She especially enjoyed the church's ministry to the residents of the White River Healthcare, where her beautiful alto voice enhanced the singing with the residents.  She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed the month fellowship meals at the church.  Her enjoyment came not only from sharing her culinary abilities with others, but especially, she enjoyed the camaraderie of sharing a meal with fellow church members.

A memorial service may be planned in the future.
