Geneva J. Anderson

Of Violet Hill, Arkansas

Geneva Jewell Anderson, the only child of the late Richard J. Anderson and Eula C. Moser Anderson, was born February 23, 1939 in Izard County, Arkansas.  She departed this life October 16, 2024 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 23 days.  Geneva spent her life as a loving daughter, granddaughter, niece, homemaker, friend and lifelong resident of Izard County. Geneva graduated from Melbourne High School in 1957.  She was an honor student and played basketball. One of the highlights of her high school basketball days was winning the Izard County Tournament. After having many jobs, most of her working years were spent at White-Rodgers Manufacturing in Batesville, retiring after 42 years of employment.  After the death of her parents, Geneva continued to live on the family farm with her cats, dogs, a few chickens and cows. She was a loyal member of Izard County Senior Center in Brockwell.  Geneva traveled extensively, some of her favorite travels were to see family in Indiana and Michigan and cruising.  Her biggest trip was to Hawaii, where she visited the Pearl Harbor Memorial. Geneva was of the Baptist faith and a member of Sidney Baptist Church. Religion, the United States and Arkansas were all very special to Geneva.

Geneva is survived by numerous cousins and was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation and funeral service will be Wednesday, October 23 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.   Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Shannon Smith officiating.   Burial will follow at Old Philadelphia Cemetery.
