Gayland Cleo Ivie
Of Violet Hill, Arkansas
Gayland Cleo Ivie, son of the late Irvan Cleo Ivie and Reble Delilah Moody Ivie, was born October 2, 1933 in Crossroads, Arkansas. He departed this life October 1, 2025 at his home in Violet Hill, Arkansas at the age of 91. Gayland proudly served in the United States Navy, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander, after twenty-four years of service. He was united in marriage to June Montana Johnson November 20, 1957 until her death in 2009. After his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1975, Gayland farmed in Izard County. In 2010, he married Mary Ann Rodman and together they made their life in Violet Hill. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Belview Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years: Mary Ann Ivie of the home; one son Dennis Ivie and wife Karen of Hoover, Alabama; one brother: Rayburn "Oggie" Ivie of Sage; three sisters: Joyce Hensley of Bexar, Betty Love (Doyle) of Guion, Martha Tyson (Glen) of Bexar; one grandson: Payne Ivie of Georgia; special niece: Regina Love of Mount Pleasant and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife: June Ivie; one sister Mary Edith Whiteaker and one brother: Dale Ivie.
Visitation and funeral service will be Friday, October 3 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Crossroads Cemetery in Pineville.

Pallbearers: Phillip Edwards, Willie Whiteaker, Boone Love, Gary Herron, Grant Smith, and Rick Haney.
