Gary Wayne Hopper
of Melbourne, Arkansas
Gary Wayne Hoppper, son of the late Thomas Charles Hopper and Essie Chamberlain Hopper Minton, was born May 4, 1946 in Blytheville, Arkansas. He departed this life May 11, 2026 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 80. Wayne was a 1964 graduate of Blytheville High School. He went on to attend Henderson State University in Arkadelphia. At age 21 Wayne enlisted in the United States Navy, serving a year in Vietnam. After serving two years and receiving an Honorable Discharge, Wayne started to work in Construction. He was united in marriage to Ann Howard January 30, 1992 in Calico Rock. Wayne enjoyed living a quiet life in Melbourne, where he loved working in his yard, spending time with Ann and his grandson, Kyson, and caring for his beloved dog, Flash. He also enjoyed beach vacations and soaking up the sunshine.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 34 years: Ann Hopper of the home; one brother: Steve Hopper of Hot Springs; one grandson: Kyson Hopper of Melbourne; brother-in-law: Eddie Howard and wife Michelle of Melbourne; one sister-in-law: Pamela Turner of Jonesboro; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Corey Hopper and brother-in-law: Billy Howard.
His family will be having a private memorial service at a later date.
Cremation arrangements by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
