Gary Wayne Bales

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

Gary Wayne Bales, son of the late O. L. Bales and Frances Story Bales, was born July 3, 1945.  He departed this life November 27, 2020 at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 24 days.  He was united in marriage to Dorothy Hauch and together they raised three children.  He spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.  Most of his working years were spent in law enforcement.  He worked for many years as an Izard County Deputy.  Later he went to work for the Arkansas Department of Corrections at the Northcentral Unit in Calico Rock.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years:  Dorothy Bales of the home; two sons:  Jeff Bales and wife Sarana of Mary Esther, Florida and Gary Bales, Jr of Arizona; one daughter:  Michelle Rogers and husband John of Zion; one sister:  Sharon Cullum of Ash Flat; five grandchildren:  Ian Ward, Ariahna Ward, Wacey Bales, Josh Bales, James Bales; two great grandchildren:  Josie Bales and Dakota Bales and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son:  Greg Bales; one sister:  Shelby Flagel; one brother-in-law:  Randy Cullum.

A private memorial service will be planned for a later date.
