Aaron Gage Barnes
Of Brockwell, Arkansas
Aaron Gage Barnes, son of Brent Edward Barnes and Theresa Ann Moser Wilkes, was born August 20, 1992 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He departed this life September 1, 2025 at the age of 33 years and 12 days. He was united in marriage to Ashley Doherty August 17, 2019 in Calico Rock and together they were raising a family of five children. Gage spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, provider, and friend. He was employed at Mohawk Flooring Mill in Melbourne for fifteen years. Gage was of the Baptist faith and attended and was Baptized at Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church near Oxford.
Gage is survived by his wife of six years: Ashley Barnes of the home; two sons: Landyn Barnes, Jackson Barnes; three daughters: Jordyn Crider, Layla Barnes, and Aaryn Jade Barnes all of the home; his parents: Brent Barnes and wife Dominique of Clarksville, Tennessee and Theresa Wilkes and husband Phil of Melbourne; one brother: Logan Barnes and wife Rylie of Calico Rock; one grandmother: Emily Owens Barnes of Brockwell; four stepsisters: Demetria Woodward of Lexington, Kentucky, Anastasia Early of Batesville, Jacquelyn Bowerson of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Danielle Bowerson of Clarksville, Tennessee; three stepbrothers: Dale Joseph Wilkes of Concord, Joshua Wilkes of Fayetteville, Jacob Wilkes of Concord; nieces: Mary and Sylvia Barnes of Calico Rock; uncle: Mike Garay of Dallas; cousins: Courtney Garay and husband Jonathan Cox, Alex Garay of Dallas, Texas and a host of other relatives and many good friends. Gage was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Anglee Moser Eakes and Delmus Moser; paternal grandfather: Louie Barnes; his aunt: Cynthia Garay.
Gage was known and loved by everyone all throughout Izard County. It wasn't uncommon to find Gage driving his side-by-side on a dirt road somewhere, oftentimes with Ashley and their children, enjoying the outdoors, splashing through creeks, and laughing loudly. His sense of humor will be remembered by all--Gage had a memorable smirk that seemed to appear in nearly every photo taken of him. When asked what song should be played at his service, he quickly responded with, "Man in a Box" by Alice N Chains. Gage was loved deeply and fiercely, and to have known him was a privilege.
