Eutha Mae Hunt Vest was born May 30, 1935 in Knob Creek, Arkansas to Osbie and Vada Hunt. She passed away peacefully October 10, 2020 in Searcy, Arkansas at the age of 85. She moved down the hill a quarter mile to marry her husband, Thurl Vest November 7, 1952. Always a hard worker, she held various jobs. Starting at the Hall Hotel on the square in Melbourne and also waitressing at Archer's Café and picking strawberries with her family in the bottoms. She and Thurl worked the fruit harvest around Wenatchee, Washington for many summers in their early married life, until they both got full time jobs. She retired from Baxter Lab having been there over 20 years. Eutha had a strong Christian upbringing, with teaching and socializing centered around the church. She was baptized into Christ and worshipped at Jumbo and with the Melbourne Church of Christ.
Eutha is survived by her brother: Hershel Hunt and wife Rosa of Odessa, Missouri; one sister: Eula Fulbright of Mount Pleasant; four children: Donnie Vest, Evelyn Linvell of Newport, Tim Vest of Melbourne, Tammy Stroud and husband Rusty of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren: Jamey Vest (Christene), Jeremy Vest (Rachel), Jerrad Vest (Willa), Mindy Linvell, Travis Linvell, Luke Vest, Cole Stroud, Levi Stroud (Ashley); several great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. All of these she loved and touched deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two grandchildren: Amber Lunsford, and Jason Stroud; two infant siblings Cleta and Clayton Hunt, son-in-law: Raymond Linvell; brother-in-law: Joe Fulbright.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 14 at 9:00 a.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Chuck Crow officiating. Burial will follow at Combs Cemetery in Melbourne.
Pallbearers: Jamey Vest, Jeremy Vest, Jerrad Vest, Travis Linvell, Cole Stroud, Levi Stroud and Luke Vest.
