Arthur Ernest McGowan

Arthur Ernest McGowan, son of the late Arville Ernest McGowen and Iva Grace Wallace McGowan, was born August 12, 1940 in Culp, Arkansas. He departed this life February 15, 2020 in Mountain View, Arkansas at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 3 days. He was united in marriage to Pearlie Delean Everidge August 12, 1961 and together they raised four children. Ernest spent his life as a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. Most of his working years were spent as a heavy equipment operator.

Ernest is survived by his wife of 58 years: Pearl McGowan of the home; three sons and three daughters-in-law: Ernest M and Donna McGowan of Calico Rock, Timothy Mark and Sarah McGowan of Mountain Home and Charles Jason and Melissa LeAnn McGowan of Harriet; one daughter: Amanda Delean McGowan White and husband Alan of Dolph; one brother: Jeff McGowan of Calico Rock; one sister: Carol Jeanette Whitehead and husband Kenneth of Norfork; fifteen grandchildren: Kim Estes, Kayla McGowan, Corey McGowan, Ceshia McGowan, Shadoe McGowan, Kristin Tucker, Justin Reynolds, Ethan McGowan, DennisStowers, Bobby Stowers, Solar Stowers, Pyper Stowers, Zayden Stowers, Chris McGowan, Natasha Mitchell;

11 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Jesse Mark McGowan and Marshall Paul McGowan and two infant siblings: Catherine and Carl McGowan.

Graveside funeral service will be Monday, February 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Table Rock Cemetery with L. J. Treat officiating. Arrangements by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.

Pallbearers: Mark McGowan, Jeffery McGowan, Johnny Bowman, James Johnson, John Everidge, Don Harvey, Chris Majors, and Randall McCoy.
