Erma Kay Floyd Guiltner
Of Bandmill, Arkansas
Erma Kay Floyd Guiltner, daughter of the late Lindsey Lee Floyd and Annie Lou Morgan Floyd, was born February 26, 1940 in Bandmill, Arkansas. She departed this life July 25, 2021 at her home in Bandmill, Arkansas at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 29 days. Erma was united in marriage to Leonard S. Guiltner May 30, 1958 and together they raised three children. Erma spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend. Most of her working years were spent at White River Shirt Factory. Later she worked as a home health caregiver and a hospice volunteer. Erma was a lifelong resident of Bandmill. She loved to garden, cook, share with others and give that occasional well needed dose of down-home advice. She was an active member of Calico Rock First Baptist Church and ministered in children's church. She made sure that underprivileged children in the area received what they needed, especially at Christmas. She was known far and wide for her fried chicken, yeast rolls and cinnamon rolls. No one left her table hungry. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Erma is survived by two sons: Samuel Guiltner and wife Anna of Brockwell, Roy Guiltner and wife Beverly of Melbourne; one daughter: Teresa Giles and husband Jeff of Jonesboro; two sisters: Anna Floyd of Melbourne and Sharon Davis of Collierville, Tennessee; five grandchildren: Kathy Gleghorn (Shane), Elizabeth Perkey (Brad), Anthony Guiltner, Jonathan Guiltner, Joel Guiltner and Joseph Giles (Madison); four great grandchildren: Michael Gleghorn (Amber), Lauren Perkey, Gunner Gleghorn and Watson Giles; her lifelong friend: Janie Teague of Melbourne and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Leonard S. Guiltner; six brothers: Lester Floyd, D. T. Floyd, Marshall Floyd, Demelee Floyd, Bennie Floyd and Wayne Floyd; nine sisters: Willie "Bill" Sharp, Ada Hamilton, Lenora Kratz, Neva Wyatt, Reba Staggs, Marie Ranger, Vada Floyd, Cassie Creighton and Margie Eaton.
Visitation and funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 28 at Brockwell Tabernacle, 4243 N AR Hwy 9, Brockwell, Arkansas 72517. Visitation will be from 12- 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Owens Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne, Arkansas.
Pallbearers: Donnie Creighton, Steve Floyd, Jeff Floyd, Brian Eaton, John Davis, Alan Edmiaston.
Honorary Pallbearers: Anthony Guiltner, Jonathan Guiltner, Joel Guiltner, Joseph Giles and Watson Giles.
