Ellen Henderson Dowdle Neeley

Ellen Henderson Dowdle Neeley, daughter of the late Alfred Tommy Henderson and Mary Elizabeth Liles Henderson, was born January 4, 1931 in Newark, Arkansas. She departed this life January 8, 2019 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 89 years and 4 days. She was united in marriage to Med Dowdle. Sometime after Med's death, she married Leroy Neeley. Ellen spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, homemaker and friend. In addition to being a homemaker, Ellen worked alongside of her husband Med tending to chicken houses. Later on in life she was a in home care giver in Ash Flat. She was of the Baptist faith.

Ellen is survived by two siblings: Ovean Henderson of Indianapolis, Indiana and Mary Garlin of Newport; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one son: James Carlton Scott; two brothers: Pleas Henderson and Merritt Henderson and one sister: Ethel Coe.

Funeral service will be Friday, January 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Burial will be at Combs Cemetery.
