Reba Elizabeth Shackelford Johnston

Of Violet Hill, Arkansas

Reba Elizabeth Shackelford Johnston, daughter of the late Glen Shackelford and Irene Allen Shackelford, was born November 14, 1946 in Helena,
Arkansas.  She departed this life February 17, 2021 at her home in Violet Hill, Arkansas at the age of 74 years, 3 months and 3 days.  She was united in marriage to Dencil Johnston, Sr. October 17, 1964 in West Helena and together they raised three children.  Elizabeth spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and all kinds of sewing. She made sure all of her family members had treasures she had made. She also enjoyed exercising with her group of friends.   Most of her working years were spent at Barton School System in Barton AR in food service department.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 56 years:  Dencil Johnston, Sr of the home; one son:  Dencil Johnston, Jr and wife Lynn of Violet Hill; two
daughters:  Gloria Rhine and husband Clint of Violet Hill and Suzanne Duvall and husband John of Atkins; two sisters:  Carol Harmon of Moro,
Arkansas and Ruth Brown and husband B.J. of Tupelo, Mississippi; four grandchildren:  Valerie Long and husband Glenn, Scott Johnston, Jeremiah
Duvall and Marshall Duvall; two great grandchildren:  Gemma Johnston and Gunner Long and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother:  Allen Shackelford and two
sisters:  Wilma Haviland and Betty Groves

Visitation and funeral service will be Tuesday, February 23 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Gene Baird officiating.   Burial will follow at Old Philadelphia Cemetery.
