Eleanor Rivers Edwards Cheesman

Of Elizabeth, Arkansas

Eleanor Rivers Edwards Cheesman, daughter of the late Thomas Edwards and Lena Taylor Edwards, was born December 26, 1940 in Martinsville, Virginia.  She departed this life December 3, 2022 at her home in Elizabeth, Arkansas at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 7 days.  She was united in marriage to Donald Grant Cheesman September 5, 1968 and together they raised five children.  Eleanor spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend.  She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Wises Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Eleanor is survived by her husband of 54 years:  Donald Chessman of the home; five children:  Elena M Cheesman of Flippin, Robert F. Cheesman of Edmond, Oklahoma, Allen V. Cheesman of San Antonio, Texas, Donald James Cheesman of Big Rock, Tennessee, and Amy Lynn Durphy of Farmington, New Mexico; two brothers:  Thomas Edwards of Virginia and Chuck Edwards of Georgia; 18 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation and funeral service will be Saturday, December 10 at Wises Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.  Visitation will be 12 – 1 p.m.  Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Mike Haney officiating.  Burial will follow under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
