Dwight L. Wayland

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Dwight L. Wayland, son of the late Phillip L. Wayland and Rachael Estelle Ducker Wayland, was born December 28, 1936 in Pineville, Arkansas.   He quietly passed away December 1, 2024 in Calico Rock at the age of 87.  He grew up in Pineville and graduated high school in Calico Rock.  He married Bettye Estes of Calico Rock in 1956. They made their home in Little Rock.  Dwight began working for Arkansas Best Freight and retired after 37 years of employment.  After retirement, he and Bettye moved back to Pineville.  He was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Pineville.  Enjoyed wood working and gardening.

In addition to his parents Phillip and Estelle Wayland, he is preceded in death by his sister:  Opal Whitfield (A.B.), and his two brothers:  Bob Wayland (Georgia) and Howard Wayland (Henretta).  Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 68 years:  Bettye Estes Wayland and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.

Visitation and funeral service will be Tuesday, December 3 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.   Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Pineville Cemetery with Chris Anderson officiating.
