Doris Jean
Byler
Mar 29, 1952 — Jun 28, 2020
Doris Jean Byler, Mother, Wife, Gran Gran, passed away at the age of 68 Sunday morning, June
28 th , 2020 at White River Medical Center.
She was born to Norma Jean George and Roy Glenn George Sr. in Dallas, Texas on March 29,
1952, ultimately settling down to live in Melbourne, Arkansas.
She was also a loving sister to June Marie, the late Roy Glenn George Jr. and the late Stephanie
Cartagena.
Gran Gran was a wonderful mother to Barbara Minyard and the late Aaron Minyard.
She was an excellent wife to John Byler and a loving grandmother to Kyle Minyard.
Alongside her family, my grandmother managed a skating rink, Rainbow Roller Rink, for nearly
14 years.
With an impeccable green thumb, Gran Gran could grow anything and adored sharing her
natural spoils with anyone who cared to accept her gifts.
She brough Joy, happiness, and inspiration to people of all ages with her sharp wit, her
compassionate heart, and her unending spirit. Her wealth of readily shared knowledge and
wisdom were a marvel to behold.
Gran Gran truly impacted the lives of countless people she met and strove to make them feel
loved and welcome in a place of refuge away from outside turmoil.
She always had to be up and doing something or learning something. Gran Gran would pour
herself into her garden, spirituality, family, and other aspects of her life to improve herself and
others.
Her vision for a world of love, peace, and well being will be sorely missed among all of us family
members, and close friends who saw Gran Gran for the beautiful gem of the world that she was.
Thank you to all the doctors and nurses at White River Medical Center for doing the best they
could in her time of need, and another thanks to all the people who made Gran Gran's life
special.
There will be a small service will be held for her and, upon cremation, her ashes will be spread
to be free with the nature she so loved. May her wisdom and love be remembered and carried on
by those she loved and the hearts she opened.
