Dorene Acklin Ford

of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Dorene Acklin Ford, daughter of the late Chester Acklin and Corgel Faught Acklin, was born August 17, 1949 in Hope, Arkansas. She departed this life May 17, 2018 at her home in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 68 years and 9 months. She was united in marriage to Billy E. Ford November 9, 1988 in Norfork, Arkansas. Dorene spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. During her working years, she worked a Home Health Aid. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Community Church in Calico Rock.

Dorene is survived by her husband of 29 years: Billy Ford of the home; five daughters: Tyna Boss and husband Danny of Mountain View, Robin Lane of Midway, Karla Marshall and husband Terry of Batesville, Amy Watkins of Batesville and Leanne Fiel and husband Mike of Mountain View; two stepchildren: Edward Lee Ford and Billie Marie Kanatzar and husband Kevin all of Mountain Home; one brother: Dennis Acklin and wife Julie of Norfork; two sisters: Rosetta Jones of Wichita, Kansas and Freda Smithson of Cassville, Missouri; nineteen grandchildren: William Brown, James Brown, Dwayne Adams, Daniel Adams, Beth Dunn, Keith Richardson, Greyson Watkins, Blake Brown, Jared Brown, Joshua Brown, Destiny Newman, Jason Newman, Autumn Newman, Miracle Grace Fiel, Samantha Robinson, Syprina Quiroz, Dale Davis, Dalton Davis and Harley Brown; 16 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter: Syprina Renay Shaw, three siblings: Emmitt Acklin, R. C. Acklin, Norma Funkhouser and five infant grandchildren.

Visitation and funeral service will be Tuesday, May 22. Visitation will be at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock from 12-1:30 p.m. Graveside funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Galatia Cemetery with Monte Neal officiating.
