Donnie Gene Gillihan, son of the late Elmer "Doker" Gillihan and Villa Jones Gillihan, was born August 1, 1950 in Batesville, Arkansas. He departed this life February 5, 2020 at his home in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 4 days. He was united in marriage to Ruth Mello Gillihan May 24, 1969 and together they raised two children. Donnie proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Most of his working years were spent working for railroads as a mechanic, carpenter, restaurant owner and truck driver.  Donnie was of the Christian faith.

Donnie is survived by his wife of 50 years: Ruth Gillihan of the home; one son: Danny Gillihan of Melbourne; one daughter: Donna Dutton of Batesville; three brothers: Carl Gillihan (Vicky) of California, Larry Gillihan (Toni) of Idaho, Joe Gillihan (Jackie) of California; three grandchildren: Kenzy Gillihan, Donnie Dutton, Eeva Gillihan and a host of other relatives and many good friends. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Cathy Gillihan.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 11 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Funeral service will be Wednesday, February 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home. Burial will be at Reeves Cemetery.
