Donald Everett Greene, son of the late Everett Jennings Greene and Jennie Carpenter Greene, was born October 4, 1934 in Buffalo, New York.  He departed this life August 7, 2021 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 3 days.  Don proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict; enlisted 11/20/1951 - 10/03/55; served on the USS Oriskany Aircraft Carrier and the USS Bonhomme Richard aircraft carrier. Awarded Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal while performing his duties as an electrician. Don worked for Richard (Dick) Pannell, his adopted father, for years. After Richard retired, Don worked for International Harvester as an Electrician for decades. After the International Harvester Plant moved, he went to work for Continental Grain as an Electrician until he retired. We also ran a subsistence farm on 40 acres in northern Indiana, to provide food for the family while he worked these jobs. In his spare time, Don liked to hunt, help people rewire their homes and run the farm. Don was a long time member of VFW, IBEW and NRA.  He was a hardworking, stand up man to all who knew him. He was united in marriage to Rosalie Mae for 20+ years and together they had six children in Columbia City IN. He then married Paula and that last for 3 years in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Donald married a third time to Linda and they lived in Fort Wayne and Columbia City for years before retiring to Calico Rock. Linda passed away in 2018 after 36 years of marriage. He became very close to many people in Calico Rock. Including, Phyllis Smith and her parents. He loved them all. Donald was also very close with Beth Best and her family. They all adopted each other and made a new family for him.  He was the unofficially adopted grandfather for Beth Best and her children. Dad loved them all as he would love his own grandchildren, attending birthdays and holidays as if he were a part of the family for decades.
