Donald Grant Cheesman

Of Elizabeth, Arkansas

Donald Grant Cheesman, son of the late Carl Cheesman and Birdie Morrison Cheesman, was born June 3, 1943, in Middletown, Ohio.  He departed this life April 12, 2025, in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 81.  Donald spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. He was united in marriage to Eleanor Rivers Edwards September 5, 1968, and together they raised five children. He proudly served in the United States Army, retiring after 22 years.  During his time in service, he was stationed in Vietnam, Korea and Germany.

Donald is survived by five children:  Eleana Cheesman of Clarkridge, Arkansas, Robert Cheesman of Edmond, Oklahoma, Allen Cheesman of San Antonio, Texas, Donald James Cheesman of Big Rock, Tennessee, Amy Lynn Durphy of Farmington, New Mexico; one sister:  Jeannie Gross of Middletown, Ohio; seventeen grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and six siblings: Jack Cheesman, Jimmy Cheesman, Jerry Cheesman, Carl Cheesman, Bonnie Cheesman and Billie Cheesman.

Funeral service will be Thursday, April 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Wises Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Pineville with Mike Haney officiating.  Burial will follow at Wises Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
