Dewayne Wallis
of Melbourne, Arkansas

Dewayne Wallis, son of the late Anderson Wallis and Ola Veda Scott Wallis, was born February 25, 1954 in Marianna, Arkansas. He departed this life November 27, 2020 in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 66 years, 9 months and 2 days. Dewayne proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for four years. After his honorable discharge, he enlisted in the Arkansas National Guard and served 16 years. In 1978 he was united in marriage to Connie Staggs. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, provider and friend. Most of his working years were spent working for Melbourne School District as a bus mechanic and driver.

He is survived by one son: Anthony Wallis (Shawny) of Melbourne; two daughters: Hypatia Wallis (Brandon) and Andrea Wallis all of Larned, Kansas; one brother: Donnie Wallis (Joyce) of Little Rock; five grandchildren: Tyler Wallis, Michelle Wallis, Aylin Schulz, Deo Schulz, Hylee Danger Rouse and one to be born soon and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and three sisters.

Memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Dennis Harmon.
