Dessie Lee Vannatter Carroll

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Dessie Lee Vannatter Carroll, daughter of the late Michael "Buck" Vannatter and Ader Sexton Vannatter, was born July 31, 1934 in Marked Tree, Arkansas. She departed this life March 19, 2020 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 17 days. Dessie spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, homemaker and friend. Most of her working years were spent at Color Tile in Melbourne. She was of the Assembly of God faith and a member of Calico Rock Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by three sons: Jessie Carroll of Calico Rock, James Jones of Calico Rock, Joe Jones (Carlene) of Jordan; four daughters: Sheila Howard of Oxford, Ohio, Ruth Marie Tackitt of The Colony, Texas, Maxine Parks (Doug) of Central City, Arkansas, Melinda Nemec (Micah) of Calico Rock; three brothers: Larry Vannatter of Mountain Home, Troy Vannatter (Barbara) of Norfork, Gary Vannatter of Norfork; two sisters: Edna Luster of Norfork, Shirley Tunnicliff (Harold) of Optimus; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; two great great grandchild; one brother-in-law: Norman Galloway of Optimus; one sister-in-law: Della Vannatter of Calico Rock; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son: Ronnie Mooney; two brothers: Carl Vannatter and Tiny Vannatter and one sister: Wilma Galloway.

Graveside visitation and funeral service will be Monday, March 23 at Optimus Cemetery with Gale Wooten officiating. Graveside visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Graveside funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m.

Pallbearers: Chris Tackitt, D. J. Parks, Craig Carroll, Timothy Dillard, Joseph Jones, Jr., Gage Stewart.

Honorary Pallbearers: Andrew Tackitt, Adam Stewart, Troy Vannatter, Jr. Jonathan Dillard.
