Deloris Bookout Obituary

Funeral 9/16/2024

Deloris Hall Bookout, went to the Lord on September 3rd, 2024,at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.  She was 76 years old.

She was born February 12, 1948, to Raif Anderson Hall and Katherine Clark Hall in Baxter County Arkansas. Deloris graduated high school from Calico Rock High School.

She married Jerry Lee Bookout of Johnson View, Arkansas, on July 6th, 1967, at the Presbyterian Church in Calico Rock,Arkansas. Deloris created a loving home for her family for 57 years. She was a daughter, sister, wife, friend and homemaker. She loved spending time with her brothers, sisters and extended family and friends reminiscing about their many adventures.

Deloris worked for five years at the Fulton County Shirt Factory; then for 38 years at Baxter Laboratories in Mountain Home. She worked second and third shifts as needed for her family, but then was able to transfer to days. She was promoted to Purchasing Clerk at the Lab where she excelled. Her passion for serving others and working with different purchasing agents made her an indispensable team member.

Deloris loved the Lord, but also loved her family. She proved this daily through the many works that she completed by her tireless interests of researching family history, and running the family household. Deloris loved to provide delicious foods for her family, especially during the holiday season. She also treasured finding lost family members, or new connections to other families. Deloris loved to search and update ancestry.com,and travel to locations where the roots of those family membersbegan. She loved talking to lost family members and reuniting families with their lost histories. Many times, she and Jerrywould travel to distant locations to find a headstone of a family member to authenticate their historic journey to a region of the state. They had many adventures traveling through southern Missouri and Arkansas to discover untapped family roots. They also enjoyed finding restaurants to sample local faire.

Deloris treasured her nieces and nephews, and she was constantly searching for a "treat" to put a smile on their faces. She had a big heart and always gave to those in need throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband of Johnson View, Jerry Lee Bookout and her son, Jeffrey Brendon Bookout. She was also survived by her sister-in-law, Shirley Mason Hall of Vilonia, her niece's Angie Hall Swaim, (Audie), Kim Studdard (David), Jeannie Hall Ward; her nephew's Kevin Hall (Rhonda), Jimmy Hall, Joey Hall and numerous cousins and friends.
