Delores Faye Harper VanCleave

Of Franklin, Arkansas

Delores Faye Harper VanCleave, daughter of the late John Lee Harper and Ola Lavena Hightower Harper, was born July 11, 1949 in Manila, Arkansas.  She departed this life February 22, 2024 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 74 years, 7 months and 11 days.  She was united in marriage to Jimmy Lee VanCleave January 15, 1971 in Franklin, Arkansas and together they raised two children.  Delores spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. In addition to being a homemaker, Delores attended beauty school in Jonesboro and earned a beautician license. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Myron Baptist Church.

Delores is survived by her husband of 53 years:  Jimmy VanCleave of the home; one son:  Matthew Lee VanCleave and one daughter:  Leslie Beck both of Franklin; five grandchildren:  Abby Louise VanCleave, Lucy Lynn VanCleave, Billy Lee Beck, Allie Roberts and Emily Roberts;  one great grandson:  Elliot Marquez; nieces:  Karen Garcia of Texas, Andrea Michelle Meeker of Pocahontas, Amy Rachelle Love of Viola and Wanda Renee Harper of Wiseman; numerous cousins and a host of other relative and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers:  Troy Dwayne Harper and Billy Joe Harper.

Funeral service will be held Monday, February 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Myron Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Roberts Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
