David Robert Zachary, Sr.
Of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas
David Robert Zachary, Sr., son of the late Jesse Cordell Zachary and Laura Carter Zachary, was born January 24, 1942 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He departed this life February 15, 2020 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 78 years, 22 days. David served in the United States Air Force. While stationed in London, England he met Caryl Ann Blair. In 1961 they were united in marriage in Hornchurch, Essex, England. David spent his life as loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. Most of his working years were spent as a silversmith and stone cutter in New Mexico.
He is survived by two sons: David Robert Zachary, Jr. of Bee Branch and James B. Zachary of Horseshoe Bend; one daughter: Sheri Lynn Zachary of Horseshoe Bend; one brother: Jimmy Zachery of Stephenville, Texas; one sister: Ruth Bowers of Albuquerque, New Mexico; six grandchildren: Jarod Andrew Hays (Caitlin) of Decatur, Illinois, Jamie Johnson (Zachary) of Hannibal, Missouri, Brian Zachary (Rebecca) of Bee Branch, Alyssa Zachary of Albuquerque, Sara Zachary of Horseshoe Bend; eleven great grandchildren: Lily Johnson, L.B. Johnson, Olivia Sangi, Maddisyn Hays, McKinsey Hays, Lincoln Johnson, Jeremiah Munos, Silas Zachary, Eleanora Johnson, Callan Zachary, Elijah Zachary and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; seven siblings: Dorothy Trapple, Donald Zachary, Jesse Cordell Zachary, Jr., Jackie Zachary, Phillip Zachary, Carol Sue Moore and Dick Zachary.
Funeral service and visitation will be held Friday, February 21 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne, Arkansas. Visitation begins at 12. Funeral service begins at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Town of Augusta City Cemetery, Augusta, MO. under the direction of Pitman Funeral Home.
