David Wayne Young

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

David Wayne Young, son of the late Wayne Lyle Young and Leola Mae Loosey Young, was born March 16, 1955 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.  He departed this life June 21, 2024 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 5 days.  He was united in marriage to Theresa Lucy January 20, 1976 and together they raised their family in Calico Rock.  David spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, provider and friend. He was a logger by trade and spent 57 years logging.  He was a Christian and a member of Gospel Truth Church where he was active in bible study ministry, preaching and being an elder in the church.  David enjoyed working outside and playing with his grandchildren.

David is survived by his wife of 48 years:  Theresa Young of the home; four children:  Frances Hess (James) of Alabama, Davinda Young (Scott) of Calico Rock, Wayne Young (Beth) of Calico Rock, Judy Kay (Robert) of Melbourne; three siblings:  Lynn Young of  Oxford, Arkansas, Elsie Lynch (Benny) of Missouri, Shirley Sutterfield (Matthew) of  Mountain Home Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren: Brian Hess (Kayle), Andrew Hess (Maria), Michael Hess, David Pennington, Heath Pennington, Will Best, Logan Best, Hunter Young, Audrey Young, Gunner Young, Beau Young, Heather Parker (Jeff Rossen), Levi Parker; nine great grandchildren:  Remmington Hess, Gracelyn Hess, Emilou Hess, John Hess, Eleanor Rossen, Joann Rossen, Isabella Rossen, Bryson Parker, Josiah Parker and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings:  Steve Young, Vera Faye Sutterfield, Erma Jo Brock; one niece:  Amanda Lynch and one nephew:  Benjamin Lynch.

Graveside funeral service will be Tuesday, June 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Galatia Cemetery in Norfork under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
