David Anson McCollum

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

David Anson McCollum, son of Elizabeth Hope Guthrie McCollum and the late Anson Andrew McCollum, was born January 30, 1959 in Batesville, Arkansas.  He departed this life March 11, 2025 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 66.  As a child he loved playing baseball and big trucks.  He made truck driving his life long passion.  Dave was proud to say that he was a lifelong resident of Izard County.

Dave is survived by is mother :  Betty Guthrie McCollum of Melbourne; his brother:  Doyle McCollum and wife Michelle of Melbourne; one sister:  Diane Honey and husband David Honey of Horseshoe Bend: one daughter:  Jenny Callahan and husband Jeremy of Melbourne; two nephews and two nieces:  Seth Webb of Mount Pleasant, Krya Webb of Bald Knob, Mandy Brooks and husband Bradley of Melbourne and Joe McCollum of Melbourne; two granddaughters:  Katie and Emily Callahan; one great niece:  Kylie Brooks and two great nephews: Preston Seay and Clayton Brooks; along with a host of other wonderful family and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Anson McCollum and one sister:  Laura Faye McCollum.

Visitation and funeral service will be held Thursday, March 13 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.   Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Wally Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow at Old Philadelphia Cemetery in Larkin.
