David Lamar Townsend

of Calico Rock, Arkansas

David Lamar Townsend, son of Ramona Jones Townsend and the late Dale M. Townsend, was born April 12, 1948 in Batesville, Arkansas. He departed this life August 25, 2019 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 13 days. David spent his life as a son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. David served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Before becoming disabled, he worked as a boiler operator at Color Tile Flooring Mill in Melbourne.

He is survived by his mother: Ramona Jones Townsend of Calico Rock; two children: Tina Bales of Heber Springs and David Lynn Townsend of Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law: Winston and Cindy Townsend of Calico Rock; six grandchildren: Rachel Solis, David McTigue, Kyle McTigue, Jordan McTigue, Halle McTigue and Jennifer Townsend; nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Dale Townsend.

Graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
