David Elbert Johnson, III

Of Violet Hill, Arkansas

David Elbert Johnson, III, son of the late David Elbert Johnson, II and Anneliese Johanna Dormagen Johnson, was born December 17, 1948 in Sonthoffen, Germany.  He departed this life August 4, 2021 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 18 days. Dave served in the United States Navy for a short time.  He spent his life as a loving son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather and friend. It was said that Dave was a "Tinker" by trade.  He loved working with anything electronic, such as radio, television and computer components. He also, loved "tinkering" and working on cars. Dave was a man who was excited by life, was greatly loved and is greatly missed.

He is survived by two daughters:  Beth Carmickle and husband Kenneth of Virginia and Jessica Owens of Texas; one brother:  Steve Johnson of Texas; one sister:  Linda MacFarland and husband David of New Mexico; two grandchildren:  Kathryn Shupe and Zachary Owens and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother:  Michael Johnson.

No memorial service is planned at this time.
