Cynthia Lou Barnes Garay
of Blue Mound, Texas formerly of Brockwell, Arkansas

Cynthia Lou Barnes Garay, daughter of Emily Leota Owens Barnes and the late Louie Barnes, was born February 17, 1961 in Melbourne, Arkansas. She departed this life January 3, 2022 in Ft. Worth, Texas at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 17 days. She was a 1979 graduate of Oxford High School. Cynthia earned a teaching degree and went on to teach elementary school for the Pulaski County School district. Later in life, she returned to college and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was united in marriage to Miguel "Mike" Garay November 13, 1985 in Mountain Home, Idaho and together they raised two daughters. Cynthia spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, homemaker and friend. Cynthia loved spending time with her family and her beloved dachshunds: Bevo and Rocko. She was the loving caretaker of the Weaver family in Texas. She was of the Methodist faith.

Cynthia is survived by her husband of 36 years: Miguel "Mike" Garay of the home; two daughters: Courtney Michele Garay and husband Jonathan of Lewisville, Texas and Mekala "Alex" of Austin, Texas; her mother: Emily Barnes of Brockwell; one brother: Brent (Dominique) Barnes of Clarksville, Tennessee; her mother-in-law: Juana M. Garay of Ft. Worth, Texas and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her father; her maternal grandparents: Leo Owens and Emily Ardell Owens and her paternal grandparents: Preston and Minnie Massengale Barnes.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 5 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne at 1:00 p.m.
Graveside funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Brockwell.

Pallbearers: Brent Barnes, Miguel "Mike" Garay, Logan Barnes, Gauge Barnes, Jonathan Cox and Alan Estes.
