Coy Junior "Pete" Holowell
Of Melbourne, Arkansas
Coy Junior "Pete" Holowell, son of the late Elbert and Eva Skelton Holowell, was born May 4, 1939 in Cushman, Arkansas. He departed this life July 9, 2020
at his home in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 5 days. He was united in marriage to Wanda Rush February 27, 1959 and together they raised four children. Pete proudly served in the United States Army as a paratrooper during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. Most of his working years were spent as a truck driver for Silica Sand and at Boeing Aircraft Factory in Melbourne. Pete was of the Baptist faith and a member of Belview Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Wanda Holowell of the home; four children: Lisa and Dwayne Lawrence of Batesville, Tina Yancey of Melbourne, Tonya and Shayne Moser of Melbourne and Keith Holowell of Batesville; one brother Willie Holowell and wife Twilla of Batesville; one sister: Vena Frazier of Wichita, Kansas; eleven grandchildren: Chris Allen Stills, Courtney Coggins, Paige Clayton, Halle Yancey, Katlyn Shrable, Sydney Shrable, Riley Moser, Tyce Moser, Morgan Moser, Camron Holowell and Caden Holowell, four great grandchildren: Kyle Stills, Cora Womack, Parker Coggins, Jayden Coggins; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Faye Needham.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 11 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Funeral service will be Sunday, July 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Belview Baptist Church with Ray Carneal officiating. Private burial will be at Combs Cemetery.
