Charles Darrell "Charlie T" Townsend

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Charles Darrell Townsend, son of the late Hershel Townsend and Lela Faye Stroud Townsend, was born August 26, 1942 in Wideman, Arkansas.  He departed this life November 1, 2022 in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 6 days.  Charlie was a lifelong resident of Izard County. He loved living and participating in all things Calico Rock.  During his working years, he worked at Hayes Brothers, Sentinel, City of Calico Rock, White River Agency on aging.  He was active in city government, serving as Justice of Peace for several terms.  He tinkered and collected almost everything. He was a good and loyal friend that loved his nieces and their families and his friends. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Charlie T is survived by two nieces:  Sherry Killian of Calico Rock and Kathy Ducker and husband Roger of Mountain Home; great nephew:  Aaron Ducker and wife Kim and their children:  Reece, Clara and Cora Ducker; great niece: Sarah Ducker and her sons:  Aiden Setzer and Brenton Setzer and her friend Presley Melson and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother:  Joe Gene Garner and one sister:  Melba Killian and her husband Dub.

Visitation and graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, November 5.  Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.  Graveside funeral service will follow at Wideman Cemetery.
