Charles Hearl Sherrell

Of Oxford, Arkansas

Charles Hearl Sherrell, son of the late Hearl Edward Sherrell and Leora Mildred Davis Sherrell, was born August 7, 1936 in Dry Hollow, Arkansas.  He departed this life April 28, 2022 in Mountain Home, Arkansas the age of 85 years, 8 months and 21 days.  He was united in marriage to Bernice Blankenship December 15, 1954 in Melbourne.  Charles spent his life as a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, provider and friend.  During his working years he was a construction worker, carpenter and farmer.  He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Oxford Baptist Church for 54 years, where he served as Deacon for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years:  Bernice Sherrell of the home; one son:  David Sherrell and wife Fern of Oxford; one daughter:  Debbie Jennings and husband Joe of Bandmill; six grandchildren:  Rodney Jennings, Cortney (Rilee) Jennings, Kelli (Matt) Orf, Kim (Sam) Linville, Melissa (Ryan) Snyder, Jason (Ashley) Sherrell; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by an infant brother; his parents; one son:  Greg Sherrell; three sisters:  Sharon Gillihan, Dula Bryant, Kathy Shaw; one granddaughter:  Jessica Ballard.

Visitation and funeral service will be Sunday, May 1 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.  Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m.  Funeral service begins at 2:00 p.m. with Rick Keefer and Steve Stevenson officiating.  Burial will be at Oxford Cemetery.

Pallbearers:  Rodney Jennings, Matt Orf, Sam Linville, Jason Sherrell, Evan Ballard, Cortney Jennings.
