Charlene Harmon Langston

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

Charlene Harmon Langston, daughter of the late Paul Harmon and Olma Estes Harmon, was born August 10, 1934 in Batesville, Arkansas.  She departed this life June 15, 2023 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 5 days.  She was united in marriage to Bobby Wayne Langston June 3, 1953 and together they raised three children.  Charlene spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, homemaker and friend.  During her working years, she was employed by White River Shirt Company in Melbourne, Baxter Lab in Mountain Home and Blanchard Springs Caverns in Mountain View.  Her most favorite job was that of babysitter.  She took great pride in the fact that she sat with all of her grandchildren.  She was of the Church of Christ faith and a long-time member of Melbourne Church of Christ.

Charlene is survived by one son:  Wayne Langston and wife Valine; two daughters:  Sharon Edwards and Janie Miller and husband James all of Melbourne; five grandchildren:  Jamie (Jason) Dale, Bobby Langston, Jeremy (Sarah) Langston, Krista (Kelby) Wiles,  Andy (Ashley) Miller; nine great grandchildren:  Skylar (Kyle) Quillman, Lexi (Levi) Dickerson, Robert Langston, Kaylynn Langston, Annie Langston, Carter Huddleston, Charlie Wiles, Ace Miller and Adelee Miller; three great great grandchildren:  Everleigh Quillman, Haizlea Hagaman, Jameson Dickerson and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson:  Jason Langston; two sisters:  Marie Collie and Janie Cooper.

Visitation and funeral service will be Saturday, June 17 at Melbourne Church of Christ with Ryan Lloyd and Robert Langston officiating.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will be at Violet Hill Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Pallbearers:  Bobby Langston, Jeremy Langston, Andy Miller, Robert Langston, Kelby Wiles, Kyle Quillman, Levi Dickerson, Jason Batterton, Ace Miller and Carter Huddleston.
