Carroll Joe Jennings
Of Brockwell, Arkansas
Carroll Joe Jennings, son of the late Cecil Carroll Jennings and Anna Irene Floyd Jennings, was born May 9, 1950 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He departed this life January 24, 2025 in Brockwell, Arkansas at the age of 74 years, 8 months and 15 days. Joe was a 1968 graduate of Calico Rock High School. After high school, he attended Morrilton Vo Technical College, majoring in Construction Equipment Operation. Joe's takeaway, "bout all I learned was how to start the machinery". He was united in marriage to Debbie Sherrell November 11, 1972 and together they raised two sons. Joe spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, provider and friend. He owned and worked several farming operations. He raised chickens and cattle, sold hay and logged timber. He and Debbie were chosen as Izard County Farm Family of the year in 1989 and 2009. Joe was of the Baptist faith and a member of Oxford Baptist Church.
Joe is survived by his wife of 52 years: Debbie Jennings of the home; two sons: Rodney Jennings of Lone Oak, Texas and Cortney Lyn Jennings and wife Rilee of Wideman; one sister: Sue Hamlett of Mountain Home; two grandsons: Hunter Jennings and Brennan Parsley; his mother-in-law: Bernice Sherrell of Oxford and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and brother -in-law: Kathy and Burton Lamb; brother -in-law: Fred Hamlett; his father-in-law: Charles Sherrell and his brother-in-law: Greg Sherrell.
Visitation and funeral service will be Sunday, January 26 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Gale Wooten and Donnie Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow at Oxford Cemetery.
