Carolyn Combs Wiseman

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Carolyn Combs Wiseman, daughter of the late Ralph Combs and Sarah Opal Pinkston Combs, was born May 25, 1941 in Wiseman, Arkansas.  She departed this life August 20, 2022 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 26 days.  Carolyn was a native of Izard County.   At the age of sixteen she attended Harding College and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway.  Carolyn spent thirty-six years as a school librarian, thirty-one of those years were spent at Calico Rock.  In 1970 she and Bill assumed management of Wiseman Motel. She was united in marriage to Bill Wiseman January 19, 1962 and together they raised their family in Calico Rock.  Carolyn was of the Church of Christ faith and a member of Calico Rock Church of Christ.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 60 years:  Bill Wiseman of Calico Rock; one son:  Stephen Wiseman and wife Celeste of Lead Hill; one daughter:  Jennifer Humphries of Calico and her husband Link; one brother:  Lecel Combs and wife Emily of Conway; two granddaughters:  Abigail Humphries and Allison Humphries; one step-sister:  Janice Gleghorn of Batesville and her children:  Jerri and Brent and their families; nephew:  Kevin Combs and wife Leah of Morrilton and their children:  Graham, Matthew, Nicholas, William, Bennet and Elizabeth; her beloved friend:  Sharon Lane and family of Calico Rock and her devoted group of retired educators and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation and funeral service will be Saturday, August 27 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.  Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m.  Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Robert Lane officiating.  Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers:  Jay Knight, Carl Russell, Paul Sugg, Ronnie Guthrie, David Sugg and John Thomas.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Members of Calico Rock Church of Christ.
