Carolyn LaDawn Spinks Parish

Of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas

Carolyn LaDawn Spinks Parish, daughter of the late Edwin Edward Spinks and Shirley Ruth Brewer Spinks, was born February 16, 1954 in Wichita, Kansas. She departed this life February 1, 2024 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 69 years, 11 months and 16 days. She was united in marriage to Johnny Wayne Parish November 30, 1979 in Heber Springs, Arkansas and together they raised a family. Carolyn was of the Baptist faith and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Carolyn spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. Carolyn worked as an assistant tax collector for Izard County for fourteen years. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family playing games. She was always ready to play, but don't think she was going to take it easy on anyone. She played to WIN!

She is survived by her husband of 44 years: Johnny Parish of the home; two sons: Jeremy Killins and wife Mercy of Greenbrier and Zachary Parish and wife Amanda of Asbury, Missouri; a daughter: LaDawn Ross and husband Daniel of Romance and a step-daughter Shiloh Housley of Searcy; one brother: Michael Spinks and wife Rosalee of Drasco; one sister: Kelly Lacy and husband Ricky of Carthage, Texas; her stepmother: Joan Spinks of Concord; stepbrother: Michael (Lorna) Schoenbrun of Searcy; seven grandchildren: Mason (Kaylyn) Ross, Christian (Erin) Ross, Jasmine Killins, Gavin Killins, Isaac Parish, Micah Parish and Savannah Housley; six great grandchildren: Alliee Ross, Sawyer Ross, Ellie Jaco, Drake Jaco, Steele Ross and Ivy Ross; granddaughter-in-law: Emalee Jaco of Heber Springs; mother-in-law: May Parish of Melbourne; sister-in-law Debbie Womack of Melbourne; and brother-in-law Dale Parish and wife Anna of Melbourne, and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She has been reunited in heaven with her parents; one grandson: Hunter Ross and father-in-law: Ottis Parish. Visitation will be Sunday, February 4 from 4-6 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation and funeral service will be Monday, February 5 at Oak Grove Church in Drasco, Arkansas. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with John Higgins and Darvin Carlton officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Drasco.

Pallbearers: Mason Ross, Christian Ross, Gavin Killins, Chaise Lacy, Daniel Ross, Jeremy Killins.
