Carol Ann Ramsey Brownfield

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

Carol Ann Ramsey Brownfield, daughter of the late Richard Gale Ramsey and Glenda Mary Majors Ramsey, was born December 1, 1943, in Franklin, Arkansas. She departed this life May 11, 2025 in Salem, Arkansas at age 81. Carol spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker, caretaker, and friend. Her first job was Mar-Bax Shirt Factory but most of her working years were spent as a mortgage auditor in Kansas City, Missouri, retiring after 40 years of employment. She made many friends during these years, including those she met on her transportation to and from her office. After retiring from this career, she relocated to Melbourne, Arkansas where she worked in home health, helped to care for her mother, and was also employed as Curator/Historian for the Melbourne History Museum, donating many joyful hours of her time and many personal items to the collection.

Carol was a gifted seamstress, quilt maker, and master gardener who created beauty all around her. She was a family historian that loved to tell stories about the "good old days" and treasured family pictures and items that stirred loving memories of her circle of love. Carol loved listening to music, especially Clint Black. She actively served as the president of the Clint Black Fan Club allowing her to meet him personally. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Melbourne.

Carol is survived by three children: Carolyn Lea Alumbaugh and husband Scott of Camdenton, Missouri, Timothy Nick Schuh and wife RaeNell of Rolla, Missouri, Benjamin Wade Brownfield and Tabitha Armenta of Overland Park, Kansas; three brothers: Bob Ramsey and wife Penny of Melbourne, Jim Ramsey of De Soto, Kansas, Dan Ramsey of Melbourne; four sisters: Barbara Crosby and husband Jerry of Melbourne,  Liz Neal of Salem, Diana Struckle of Woodward, Oklahoma, Cathy Kramer of Melbourne; seven grandchildren: Dylan Dennis, Amber Schrader (Briggs), Ashleigh Schuh, Jonathan Schuh, Regan Hayes, Jaycob Hayes (Mackenzie), Lucy Brownfield; one great granddaughter: Iris Schraeder; numerous cousins and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son: Clay Allen Foreman; one daughter: Jennifer Annette Richardson, brother in-laws Michael Struckle and Gene Neal, sister in-law Annette Ramsey, many beloved aunts and uncles, and other special family members.

Visitation and funeral service will be Friday, May 23, 2025 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. All are encouraged to wear jeans and casual wear to the visitation and funeral service. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Funeral service with Ron Helm officiating will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Old Philadelphia Cemetery.
