Carl Guin Vaughn
of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas
Carl Guin Vaughn, son of the late Ellis Vaughn and Lena Colter Vaughn, was born March 17, 1940 in Melbourne, Arkansas. He departed this life August 29, 2019 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 12 days. He was united in marriage to Lorrella May Covey February 1, 1958 in Malaga, Washington and together they raised five children. Carl spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. After several years of traveling between Washington and Arkansas, he was employed by Limedale Lime and Minerals in Batesville AR, retiring after twenty-five years of employment. Carl was a born again Christian and a member of Cave City Church of God.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Lorrella Vaughn of the home; four children: Carla Moser and husband Tony of Mount Pleasant, Evelyn Speirs and husband Tommy of Jonesboro, Joseph Vaughn of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Kristina Curtis of Mount Pleasant; three sisters: Lois Tate of Violet Hill, Connie Barnett of Paris, Arkansas and Shirley Richardson of Franklin; thirteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Danny Vaughn, one grandson: Brent Vaughn, a great grand daughter: Alexandria Burchett and great grand son: Austynn Curtis.
Visitation and graveside funeral service will be Saturday, August 31. Visitation will be at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne beginning at 12:45 p.m. Graveside funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Violet Hill Cemetery with Allen Brown officiating.
Pallbearers: Tommy Speirs, Tony Moser, Andrew Curtis, Cody Curtis, Ethan Curtis, Aaron Curtis and Mike Crosby.
