Carl Ray Brewer

Of Wideman, Arkansas

Carl Ray Brewer, son of the late Leslie and Leatha Vaugn Brewer of Pine Bluff, was born February 14, 1947 in Stuttgart, Arkansas.  He went to be with the Lord August 22, 2022 at his home in Wideman at the age of 75 years, 6 months and 8 days.  Carl always put God first and then church, country and family next. Carl proudly served in the Vietnam War.  He was stationed in Korea, then Germany and finally in Vietnam from 1966 – 1969. He loved our country and fought for the freedoms we enjoy today.  After his honorable discharge, Carl worked for Cotton Belt Railroad in Pine Bluff for twenty-three years, as a carman.  He was united in marriage to Carolyn Caperton August 11, 1989.  He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Wises Chapel Landmark Missionary Baptist Church since 2004.

Carl is survived by his wife of thirty-three years:  Carolyn Brewer of Wideman; one son:  Wade Brewer and wife Linda Brewer of Pine Bluff; one brother:  Larry Brewer of Little Rock; three nieces:  Kristie McDaniel, Angela Brown and Leslie Ann Evans all of Little Rock; one nephew:  Luke Brewer of Little Rock; one brother-in-law:  Charles Caperton of Ash Flat and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation and funeral service will be Thursday, August 25 at Wises Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Pineville.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.  Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Mike Haney, Randall Dunn and Larry Brewer officiating.  Burial will be at Wises Chapel Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
