Candace Cates Loggains

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

Candace Cates Loggains, daughter of the late Edwin Cates and Hazel Fenley Cates, was born May 1, 1952 in Augusta, Georgia. She departed this life January 27, 2024 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 71 years, 8 months and 26 days.  She was united in marriage to Ronny Loggains September 6, 1975 in Oxley, Arkansas. Candy lived her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, homemaker and friend.  Candy worked in the banking business for 33 years.  She was employed by Bank of Melbourne for 12 ½ years and the remainder was spent at First National Bank of Izard County. She was of the Baptist faith and a long-time member of Melbourne First Baptist Church.

Candy is survived by her husband of 48 years: Ronny Loggains of the home; two brothers:  James Sitton of Melbourne and Keith Cates and wife Amanda of Hensley, Arkansas; two sisters:  Pauletta Jackson and husband Charles of Marshall and Rita Crow of Conway; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother:  Ellarhea Cates; one brother:  Roger Cates and one sister:  Judy Passmore.

Graveside funeral service will be Friday, February 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Pratt Cemetery with Rick Burke officiating.  Arrangements by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
