Bruce King Johnson

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

Bruce King Johnson, son of the late Sidney Joe Johnson and Rita Rodriguez Johnson, was born July 12, 1947 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He departed this life September 13, 2019 in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 1 day. Bruce proudly served in the United States Navy. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, provider and friend. During his working years, he did many types of work. He was a logger, wielder, heavy equipment operator. He did antique furniture restoration and he was the prison/jail minister. In 1994 Bruce was united in marriage to Debbie Ann Silvera. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church in Melbourne.

Bruce is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law: Steve and Kelly Johnson of Melbourne and Seth and LeeAnn Johnson all of Melbourne; four daughters and three sons-in-law: Michelle Perkins of Dallas, Texas; Kish and Chad Pool of Pineville; Tammy and Kohl Caraway of Mount Pleasant and Paula and Brady Conyers of Melbourne; one brother: Billy Johnson of Exeter, California; twenty grandchildren: Brandon Tottingham, Joshua Houser, Niki Hutchins, Devan Edge, Steven Cannon, Jr, Destinee Cannon, Trey Johnson-Shockley, Alyiah Burgess, Tristyn Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Titan Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Austin Pool, Braden Pool, Keeley Pool, Kinley Caraway, Karsyn Caraway, Cali Jo Herring, Kyson Hopper, Kelton Conyers; six great grandchildren: Dakota Tottingham, Bryar Joe Tottingham, Jay Hutchins, Jaxon Hutchins, Aspen Cannon and Hayden Edge and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one sister: Janeece Johnson and one son-in-law: Cory Hopper.

Funeral service will be Sunday, September 15 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Melbourne with Doyne Robertson and Rick Burke officiating. Burial will be at Combs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
