of Melbourne, Arkansas
Bobby Joe Martin, son of the late Leslie Martin and Lola Jean Martin, was born March 18, 1936 in Oxford, Arkansas. He departed this life June 28, 2018 at his home in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 82 years, 3 months, and 10 days. He was united in marriage to Gleneta Rose Marchant November 12, 1959 in Batesville, Arkansas and together they raised two children. He served in the United States Army as a helicopter Crew Chief. Bob spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, uncle, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider, and friend. During his working years, Bob owned and operated Melbourne Auto Parts, retiring after 30 plus years of operation. He was of the Church of Christ faith and a member of Millcrest Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Gleneta Martin of the home; two children: Dani Lynn Martin McDaniel and husband James of Mountain Home, and Mark Allan Martin and wife Lisa of Batesville; one brother: Mickie Lynn Martin of Acworth, Georgia; one sister: Paula Martin of Birmingham, Alabama; eight grandchildren Darah Lockhart McDaniel-Chandler (Blake) of Memphis, Tennessee, Larkin Dunedin McDaniel Sisson of Russellville, James Madison McDaniel IV of Mountain Home, Christopher Allan Martin (Whitley) Desha, Casey Ren Martin of Batesville, Shelby Lynn Horn of Sulphur Rock, Austin Ray Horn (Seanna) of Batesville and Donald Lee Norman, Jr. (Lindsey) of Desha; two great grandchildren: Bristyn Brynne Martin and Greyson Lee Norman and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Michael Martin and an infant brother; two sisters: Billie Dortch and Glenna Couillard.
Visitation and funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 3 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will begin at 12 noon . Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at New Liber
ty Cemetery in Larkin, Arkansas.
