Bobby Ray Franks

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Bobby Ray Franks, son of the late James Winford "Sock" Franks and Estha Mae Curtis Franks, was born October 15, 1953 in Sugar Loaf, Arkansas.  He departed this life October 29, 2024 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 71.  Bob was a lifelong resident of Calico Rock.  He was united in marriage to Cathy Haley May 24, 1974 and together they raised their family.  Bob spent his life as a loving son, husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, provider and friend. Bob loved being a grandpa, spending as much time with them as possible.  Most of his working years were spent as a truck driver.  He enjoyed being on the river fishing, for a time he worked as a fishing guide.  Bob was a friend to many; he loved to laugh and have fun and he will be missed by his friends and family.

Bob is survived by his wife of 50 years:  Cathy Franks of the home; three children:  Billy Bob Franks (Jessica) of Calico Rock, Holly Edwards (Eric) of Damascus, Jennifer Britt (Jamie) of Cabot; three siblings:  Connie Whiteaker (Jeff), Bonnie Franks, Tom Franks all of Calico Rock; seven grandchildren:  Ty Franks, Payton Franks,  Levi Roof, Dillon Thornley (Maddie), Ella Thornley, Destiny Britt, Devyn Britt; three great grandchildren:  Atlas Thornley, Cora Roof, Avery Hooper; three nieces and nephew:  Shannon Scott, Tyler Whiteaker, Samantha Franks and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents: his brother:  Bill Franks and nephew:  Rusty Franks.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 31 from 5-7 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.  Funeral service will be Friday, November 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.  Burial will follow at Spoon Flat Cemetery in Fifty-six, Arkansas.
