Billy Wayne Yancey

Of Brockwell, Arkansas

Billy Wayne Yancey, son of the late Ezra E. Yancey and Leora Reynolds Yancey, was born November 27, 1941 in Brockwell, Arkansas.  He departed this life February 24, 2023 at his home in Brockwell, Arkansas at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 28 days.  He was united in marriage to Catherine Rush December 30, 1983. Billy Wayne spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend.  For many years he worked as a carpenter building homes.  Later he worked as Miller Warehouse Supervisor, retiring after 13 years of employment.  He was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years:  Catherine Yancey of the home; five children:  Shellia Phipps of Melbourne, Sharon Arnold and husband Jerry of Melbourne, Ronnie Felton of Brockwell, Retha Thompson of Mountain Home, Tammy Howard and husband Bruce of Cave City; two brothers:  Paul Dwain Yancey of Independence, Missouri and Ronnie Yancey and wife Janet of Brockwell;10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant brother and one sister-in-law:  Vetral McCollum Yancey.

Graveside funeral service will be held Friday, February 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
