Billy Ray Lucy

of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Billy Ray Lucy, son of the late J. E. " Bud" Lucy and Mollie Galloway Lucy, was born June 25, 1936 in Chessmond, Arkansas. He departed this life April 25, 2018 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 81 years and 10 months. Bill was a lifelong resident of Calico Rock. He was united in marriage to Sue Miller August 27, 1977. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. Most of his working years were spent coaching basketball and teaching social studies at Calico Rock and Oxford Schools. After retiring from teaching in 1989, he worked several different jobs before going to work at North Central Prison Unit in Calico, retiring after ten years of employment. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church in Calico Rock.

He is survived by two children: Clint Lucy and wife Amanda of Batesville and Sandye Perryman and husband Steve of Rogersville, Missouri; one sister: Erlene King of Calico Rock; three grandchildren: Sara Floyd and husband Justin of Ozark, Missouri, Sam Perryman of Salt Lake City, Utah and Molly Lucy of Batesville; two great grandchildren: Molly and Nathan Floyd; nephew: Jim King and wife Joannie of Calico Rock and niece: Nancy Kemp of Pineville; several great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. Billy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Sue Lucy; one sister: Bethel Moody and one nephew: Gary Arnold.

Visitation and memorial service will be held Monday, April 30 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m.
