Billy Noel Hellums, son of the lateWillie Alphis Hellums and Gracie Lorenda Jackson Hellums, was born September 5, 1945 in Violet Hill, Arkansas. He departed this life December 12, 2018 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 7 days. He was united in marriage to Melanie Adkins. His children remember him as a hard-working and gentle father. Billy was skilled in the art of mechanics and often assisted members of the community with vehicle problems. He was a loving individual who was devoted to the Lord and was dedicated to the Lord's church. Billy spent his life giving of himself and his time sitting with the sick and doing whatever he could to comfort or uplift others. He was of the Church of Christ faith and a member of Highway 115 Church of Christ in Cave City.
Billy is survived by his wife of thirty-two years: Melanie Sue Hellums of the home; four children: Billy Blake Hellums and wife Andrea NaCole Hellums of Cabot, Andrew Brady Hellums and wife Codi Nicole Hellums of Sidney, Gracie Mae Hellums of Batesville and Joshua Hellums of Washington; seven grandchildren: Taylor Gates and husband Chase of Batesville, Kaden, Kinley, Kensi and Kali Hellums of Sidney, Emma and Gunner Hellums of Cabot; one brother: Eldon Hellums and wife Shirley of Pyatt; one sister: Dorothy Jones of Melbourne and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Willie and Gracie Hellums; an infant daughter: Amanda Hellums and three brothers: Noble Hellums, Thomas Hellums and Johnnie Hellums.
Funeral service will be Friday, December 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne with Todd Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at New Liberty Cemetery in Larkin.
Pallbearers: Jeff Gillihan, Zane Ferguson, Caysen Shaw, Ty Cornelius, Landon Edwards, Cole Lamb.
Honorary Pallbearers: Lonzo Moser, Paul Bray, Jerry Crosby, Tim Weaver and Brody Hubbard.
