Betty Maud Elliott Jeffery
of Melbourne, Arkansas
Betty Maud Elliott Jeffery, daughter of the late Foncie Elliott and Pearlie Maud Vest Elliott, was born April 17, 1942 in Melbourne, Arkansas. She departed this life March 13, 2026 in Cave City, Arkansas at the age of 83. She was the youngest of ten children born to the Elliott family. She was united in marriage to Alvin Cleo Jeffery April 7, 1958 and together they raised four children. Betty was a faithful member of Melbourne First Baptist Church, serving as Sunday School teacher and nursery worker. She loved watching the children during services. Betty worked many years as a home health aide and always loved the people she took care of. One of Betty's favorite places to visit was Branson, Missouri. She had so much fun shopping, eating and seeing shows. Betty always loved playing games with her kids, both indoors and out. She loved badminton, basketball, baseball and taking her kids swimming and playing on the playgrounds. Betty excelled in playing the piano, sewing, cooking and making quilts. She enjoyed being a member of Redbud Extension Homemaker Club and socializing with the other members. In 2021 she received a plaque and certificate for being a fifty-year member and also a Charter Member. Her extra special friends, Betty Neal, Helen Vest and Judy Qualls were so good to her, taking excellent care of her while she was still able to live at home. Betty loved all her family and friends and will be deeply missed but she was ready to meet her Lord and Savior and be reunited with her loved ones gone on before her.
Betty is survived by three children: Stevie William Jeffery, Elizabeth Jane Jeffery Deeter, and Matthew Todd Jeffery; six grandchildren: Alvin Jeffery, Bill Jeffery, Joseph Jeffery, Lindsey Wright, Brett Deeter and Adam Deeter; six great grandchildren: Preston Wright, Maci Wright, Carter Wright, Eleanor Jeffery, Chael Deeter and Cambria Deeter; many beloved nieces and nephews, church friends, and a host of other relatives.
