Betty Jean Whitecotton Jarosz

Of Optimus, Arkansas

Betty Jean Whitecotton Jarosz, daughter of the late Clyde Earl Whitecotton and Josephine Rose Grimmer Whitecotton, was born September 21, 1936 in Shidler, Oklahoma.  She departed this life December 30, 2020 at Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 84 years, 3 months and 9 days.   She was united in marriage to William Allen Jarosz and together they raised six children.  Betty spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend.  While living in Calico Rock, she owned and operated The Vintage House Candle Shop.

She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law:  William  and Sue Jarosz and John and Elaine Jarosz all of Optimus; four daughters and four sons-in-law:  Diane and Jim Pye of Optimus, Julie and Brad Hart of California, Margo and Dave Barker of Colorado, Linda and Richard Whitlock of California; two brothers:  Buford Whitecotton and Kay Whitecotton both of California; two sisters:  Mary Moyers of Tennessee and Bonnie Sorce of Berryville; 21 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and eight siblings.

Graveside funeral service will be Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Jarosz Family Cemetery in Optimus under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
